Structural Biology/Biochemistry Seminar Series

The Structural Biology/Biochemistry Seminar Series brings in notable scientists to share their research with our students and faculty at least once a week during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Speakers have included Dr. Tom Pollard from Yale, Dr. Mina Bissell from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory,  Dr. Richard Kuhn from Purdue and Dr. Dinshaw Patel from Sloan-Kettering. Students in the Molecular Biophysics and the Chemistry & Biochemistry Graduate Programs also present a seminar in this venue once a year.

In April of each year the Kasha Seminar and Award is held. A graduate of the Molecular Biophysics Graduate Program is invited to return to FSU to give the Kasha Lecture.  A $500 cash award is given to the MOB student who wins the competition for best student publication published in the last 2 years. The winner is decided by a committee and held secret until the announcement at the Seminar.
