Title: “Vaccines for Prevention and Treatment of Cancer”
Abstract: In breast and other cancers, T cells predict improved survival. As will be discussed, we developed a translational research program in which neo-epitopes that are specific for cancers are identified using bioinformatic and biochemical techniques and ultimately formulated into vaccines. Vaccination safely results in improve survival in murine models and in humans. Additional studies demonstrate strong synergistic efficacy when vaccines are used with immune checkpoint blockade. The use of vaccines in treatment as well as in both primary and secondary disease prevention will be discussed.
